I have just returned from my trip to Louisiana to visit friends and family, some of whom I haven't seen in over 20 years. I am ashamed by the fact that it has been so long but my friends acted as if it had only been 20 days since I saw them last.
During my vacation, I felt a freedom that I have not experienced in many years. I enjoyed my time with family and friends with no thought given to where I had to be, how long I had to be there or where my next destination was. I traveled as I did when I was young, going where the wind carried me.
I saw sights and had experiences that I will remember as long as I live. These experiences will cause a smile to cross my face at random times when something happens to trigger a memory.
This trip renewed my faith in my friends and in the bonds of family. It also showed me that there are people who truly care about me for who I am. This crude material we are constructed of may change but what matters most really is what is on the inside. What is in our soul.

The friends I have
People that surround me and lift me up are my inspiration. They see me for what I really am and accept me as such. They make me smile and keep me focused on what is important. Without them I am less than I can be.

Quote of the Day
I am not sure who gets credit for this quote but it isn't me.
"A woman marries a man thinking he'll change, and he never does.
A man marries a woman hoping she won't change, and she always does."
